About the Project
FETCH MC is a music platform and player designed for the African market. It allows publishers to upload tracks — both free and paid — enabling listeners to stream or purchase them. The platform focuses on supporting local artists and expanding music content in countries with developing digital infrastructure.
Mission
Create an intuitive music player and infrastructure for publishing and monetizing tracks, with special attention to:
- Simplified onboarding for publishers
- Flexible content distribution settings to cover markets underserved by mainstream streaming services
Challenges
- Integration with African mobile payment systems (pawaPay, Enkap), which had no ready-made Bubble plugins
- Balancing the client’s aesthetic vision with user-friendly UX — implementing unique design solutions without overloading the interface
- Accounting for local licensing specifics and reflecting them within the product
Integrations and plugins
- pawaPay, Enkap: mobile payments
- AWS: audio storage and streaming
Development stages
- Developed a track creation tool with options to upload files, set genre, licensing terms, and distribution type
- Implemented a licensing module for each track with selectable rights, durations, and conditions
- Integrated local payment systems for subscriptions and payouts to publishers
- Designed and developed a custom audio player with preview, purchase, and user library saving functionality
